The AMYA encourages member Classes to hold National and Regional Championship regattas. The AMYA supports and incents its Classes to do so, by providing a subsidy to those Classes who hold a National Championship regatta and at least 3 Regional Championship regattas in a year. It is hoped that the subsidy will be used to enhance marketing for the Class, but there is no requirement except that the funds must be used for the benefit of the Class.
This program is approved for 2025, and may or may not be extended to future years.

3 - Request Subsidy from the Treasurer The Class Secretary must send a request for the subsidy to the AMYA Treasurer, including:
The subsidy should be received approximately 2-4 weeks after all materials are submitted.
1 - Each of the regattas must meet the requirements for receiving an AMYA RCR or NCR stipend, even if no regatta stipend was requested, including these key requirements:
- Each regatta must meet the AMYA requirements for an NCR or RCR
- Each regatta must appear on the AMYA Regatta Calendar 90 days before the start of the regatta
- Each regatta NOR must state that AMYA membership is required (or National membership in the case of non-US citizens)
- Each regatta must have a regatta result posted to Regatta Results on the AMYA website within 30 days after each regatta
2 - Subsidy Details
- Time period to be used can be regattas which start or end during either Fiscal Year 2024-2025 (October 1 2024 - September 30, 2025) OR during Calendar Year 2025 (January 1 - December 31, 2025). Each Class can choose the time period they wish to use. The same regatta cannot be used to qualify for more than one years' subsidy.
- The Class Subsidy is $500 for Classes that qualify. No payment is made for partial results (fewer than 1 NCR and 3 RCRs during the time period). No extra payment is made for holding more than 1 NCR and 3 RCRs.
3 - Request Subsidy from the Treasurer The Class Secretary must send a request for the subsidy to the AMYA Treasurer, including:
- Links to the Regatta Calendar on the AMYA website for each regatta
- Links to the Regatta Results on the AMYA website for each regatta
- The check Payee name, email and phone number and the mailing address for the check
- Request should be sent to Treasurer within 30 days of the fulfillment of the NCR and 3 RCRs
The subsidy should be received approximately 2-4 weeks after all materials are submitted.
