The Asheville Remote Control Sailing Club Inaugural Regatta was held on Lake Julian, Arden, NC. 4 members showed up for our first day of racing. What a fantastic day. Thanks to Lenny and Don we have a wonderful assortment of stylish bouys/marks. Because of their efforts, we were able to get racing earlier than anticipated. I think we got 5 races in and there were 3 different winners. All racing was close with maybe 20 seconds between 1st and 4th. Congratulations to Alice one of our own star junior sailors who brought home a1st place. Congratulations to Randy, who not only has never sailed but just got his boat this week. Randy, you're a quick learner, you were always in it. Lenny brought himself a first in shifty Lake Julian winds. Don was always in the hunt for victory, a couple of shifts and a couple of holes however became challenging. From what I heard, everyone had a good time. We will be having Carlos joining us soon. He was on the dock cheering all on. Teri was on hand and as always so supportive. Jamie was in attendance too. A grand inaugural for sure.
