Shady Idea
I sail in an area where there's just no shade near the waterfront, I needed something small, something one or two skippers could set up and I didn't want to spend a lot of money. So here's what I came up with, the EZ-Up Instant Canopy shade awning. It takes all of seven or eight minutes to set up even by one person. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so...
![]() My Son, Nick, holding the packaged EZ-Up shade with a 4 foot level to show its size. | ![]() Sliding the cover off you see the stakes (in bag on ground) and the mechanics of the shade. |
![]() You can expand it out by picking up one corner and walking away diagonally from the opposite corner and just gently shaking the whole canopy. | ![]() There's four fiberglass dome supports that plug into a hub to hold the top up all parts are attached to the unit so no lost parts. |
![]() Extend the four corner legs, and voila, it's set up, it can be staked to the ground or in our case we bungie two of the legs to the dock we sail off of. |
